Operands
| Operand | Description |
|---|---|
| S | The first operand. Entries are REAL data registers or constants. This is the amount of times to multiply e to itself. This is the exponent. The value range is -1.7014118e+38 ~ 3.4028237e+38 (2-127 ~ 2128). |
| D | The second operand. Entries are only REAL data registers. This is where the exponentiation is saved. |

Notice
Error Flag (F11.0) Notice
The error flag, F11.0, will be ON for one scan when the address of the data register assigned by @D exceeds the range of the data register, D. The range of the data register, D, is dependent on the CPU type. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the data for the calculation exceeds the data register assigned to S or D. When the value assigned to S exceeds its range, the value, Infinity (1.#INF00), is stored in the data register D.
Instruction Behavior
The EXP and EXPP instructions behave as follows:
- Execution is done es.
- The PLC CPU regards the constant e as 2.71828.
Ladder Diagram Examples
EXP

The EXP instruction raises the base constant e, to the exponent WORD value, S, and saves the power in an assigned WORD data register, D.

When the contact, M2.0, is ON (1), the instruction executes e1.235000 and saves the result, 3.438379.

EXPP

The EXPP one-shot instruction raises the base constant e, to the exponent WORD value, S, and saves the power in an assigned WORD data register, D. Every time this instruction executes, it energizes the output only once.

When the contact, M2.1, is ON (1), the instruction executes e-1.674253 and saves the result, 0.187448.
