Thermocouple Module Features
The IO-SA0400T is a thermocouple module that directly connects 8 thermocouples to a thermocouple input module. The module converts the temperature (°C or °F) by the first decimal digit and outputs a digital value between 0 ~ 16,000. The following are the thermocouples:
- K
- J
- E
- T
- B
- R
- S
- N
- The thermocouple module is used to convert temperature data into signed 14-bit binary data for a digital value. This module converts the minimum and maximum values into 0 ~ 16,000 (-8,000 ~ 8,000).
- Temperatures indicate a minimum value of -50°C (-58°F) and a maximum value of 50°C (122°F).
- The minimum digital value is expressed as 0 (-8,000).
- The maximum digital value is expressed as 16,000 (8,000).
- If the minimum and maximum temperature values are set up, the temperature is converted into the minimum value, 0 (-8,000), and the maximum value, 16,000 (8,000).
- Broken cables, thermocouple, or out-of-range measurements by the channels can be detected.
- There are 4 channels on the IO-SA0400T expansion module for 4 thermocouples.
- There are no limitations for the number of thermocouple modules on one base.
- Reference Junction Compensation (RJC) is automatically performed by the temperature sensor attached to the terminal.
Example

- The electromotive force in the thermocouple is varying depending on changes in temperature near both ends of each thermocouple.
- The IO-SA0400T performs linearization for the electromotive force input from the thermocouple which is non-linear.
- The temperature is stored in the internal memory of the IO-SA0400T as a converted temperature
- The IO-SA0400T uses the converted temperature or digitally converted value stored in buffer memory in the module using the FROM instruction in the scan program.
