Operands
| Operand | Description |
|---|---|
| S1 | The first operand. Entries are 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers or constants. The 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value range is H00000000 ~ H99999999. |
| S2 | The second operand. Entries are 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers or constants. The 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value range is H00000000 ~ H99999999. |
| D | The third operand. Entries are only 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers. This is where the product is saved. |
Notice
Error Flag (F11.0) Notice
The error flag, F11.0, will be ON for one scan when the address of the data register assigned by @D exceeds the range of the data register, D. The range of the data register, D, is dependent on the CPU type. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the data for adding exceeds the data register assigned to S1 or S2. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the data for S1 or S2 is not binary-coded decimal (BCD) data.
BCD Operation
The DBADD and DBADDP instructions perform raw Hexadecimal addition.
- Only the numbers 0-9 can be used.
- A-F will NOT work.
Product Storage
The DBMUL and DBMULP instructions behave as follows:
- The product of S1 × S2 is saved in the 16-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D.
- The lower 8 digits of the product are saved in D.
- The upper 8 digits of the product are saved in D+1.
Ladder Diagram Examples
DBMUL

The DBMUL instruction multiplies an 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value, S1, to an 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value, S2, and saves the product in an assigned 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D.

When M1.0 is powered ON, the 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D18, is multiplied to the 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D20, and the product is saved in the 16-digit binary-coded decimal data register, D22.

DBMULP

The DBMULP one-shot instruction multiplies an 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value, S1, to an 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value, S2, and saves the product in an assigned 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D. Every time this instruction executes, it energizes the output only once.

When M1.0 is powered ON, the 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D18, is multiplied to the 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data register, D20, and the product is saved in the 16-digit binary-coded decimal data register, D22.
