Operands

OperandDescription
S1The first operand.
Entries are 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers or constants.
This is the dividend.

The 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value range is H00000000 ~ H99999999.
S2The second operand.
Entries are 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers or constants.
This is the divisor.

The 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) value range is H00000000 ~ H99999999.
DThe third operand.
Entries are only 8-digit binary-coded decimal (BCD) data registers.

D is where the quotient is saved.
D+1 is where the remainder is saved.

Notice

Error Flag (F11.0) Notice

The error flag, F11.0, will be ON for one scan when the address of the data register assigned by @D exceeds the range of the data register, D. The range of the data register, D, is dependent on the CPU type. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the data for dividing exceeds the data register assigned to S1 or S2. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the data for S1 or S2 is not binary coded decimal (BCD) data. F11.0 turns ON when the value of the divisor, S2, is 0.

BCD Operation

The BDIV and BDIVP instructions perform raw Hexadecimal division.

  • Only the numbers 0-9 can be used.
    • A-F will NOT work.

Tip: Operand Division Format

S1 is divided by S2. (S1 ÷ S2)

The DBDIV instruction divides an 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) dividend value, S1, by an 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) divisor value, S2, and saves the result in an assigned 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) data register, D. The quotient is saved in the data register, D, and the remainder is saved in the data register, D+1.

When the contact, M0.0, is powered ON, the 8-digit binary-coded decimal data register, D24, is divided by the 8-digit binary-coded decimal data register, D27, and the result is saved in the 8-digit binary-coded decimal data register, D30. The quotient is saved in the data register, D30, and the remainder is saved in the data register, D31.

The DBDIVP one-shot instruction divides an 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) dividend value, S1, by an 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) divisor value, S2, and saves the result in an assigned 8-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) data register, D. The quotient is saved in the data register, D, and the remainder is saved in the data register, D+1. Every time this instruction executes, it energizes the output only once.
