EasyBuilder Pro provides a wide range of software features that enable HMIs to go beyond basic visualization and become active components within an automation system. These features allow the HMI to handle data processing, system control, communication, and user interaction in a flexible and scalable way.
At a high level, software features in EBPro are designed to extend functionality, automate tasks, and integrate systems. This includes tools for data handling (logging, recipes, trending), system control (macros, schedulers, events), communication (protocol drivers, pass-through, IIoT integration), and visualization (advanced objects and displays).
Action Trigger
The Action Trigger feature allows the HMI to execute predefined actions when specific conditions are met, such as a bit change or value threshold. It is commonly used to automate tasks without user interaction, enabling the HMI to respond dynamically to system events.
Alarms and Events
Alarms and Events provide a structured way to monitor system conditions and notify operators when predefined limits or states are reached. They also log occurrences for historical tracking, helping with troubleshooting, compliance, and system analysis.
Backup Object
The Backup Object is used to trigger a backup or transfer of selected data from the HMI to another location, such as external storage, a server, or email. It operates based on a user action or trigger condition and is commonly used to export logs, historical data, or other stored information for backup, analysis, or reporting.
Condition Object (If/Then)
The Condition Object allows simple logic to be implemented directly within the HMI using if/then rules. It evaluates conditions and performs actions based on those results, providing lightweight control without needing full macro programming.
Data Block Display
The Data Block Display presents groups of register values in a structured, table-like format. It is useful for monitoring multiple related data points at once, especially in systems where large sets of values need to be viewed efficiently.
Data Sampling / Data Logging and Trending
This feature captures and stores data over time for analysis and visualization. Logged data can be displayed in trend graphs, allowing users to monitor performance, identify patterns, and review historical system behavior.
Data Transfers
Data Transfers allow the HMI to move or copy data between devices, registers, or systems. This is useful for synchronizing values, mapping data between different devices, or performing batch data operations.
Date/Time Synchronization
Date/Time Synchronization ensures the HMI maintains accurate system time by syncing with external sources or devices. This is important for consistent logging, event tracking, and coordinated system operation.
Energy Monitoring
Energy Monitoring provides tools to track and analyze power usage and energy-related data. It helps operators understand consumption patterns and supports energy management and efficiency improvements.
The E-Mail feature allows the HMI to send notifications or reports via email based on system events or conditions. It is often used for alarms, status updates, or automated reporting to remote personnel.
File Browser
The File Browser allows users to view, manage, and access files stored on the HMI or external storage devices. It provides a simple interface for navigating directories and handling files directly from the HMI.
FTP Server
The FTP Server feature enables file transfer between the HMI and external devices over a network. It allows users to upload, download, or manage files remotely for maintenance, data retrieval, or updates.
JS (JavaScript) Object
The JavaScript Object allows developers to execute JavaScript code within the HMI project. It provides additional flexibility for creating dynamic behaviors, handling data, or integrating with web-based functions.
Multi-HMI Connection
Multi-HMI Connection allows multiple HMIs to communicate and share data with each other. This enables coordinated operation across different interfaces and supports distributed visualization systems.
Pass-Through Mode
Pass-Through Mode allows a computer to communicate with a PLC through the HMI as a gateway. This simplifies access for programming and troubleshooting without requiring a direct connection to the PLC.
PDF Reader Object
The PDF Reader Object allows PDF documents to be displayed directly on the HMI. It is useful for showing manuals, procedures, or documentation to operators within the interface.
Picture Viewer
The Picture Viewer displays images stored on the HMI or external sources. It can be used for visual references, machine images, or dynamic image display based on system conditions.
PLC Web Browser
The PLC Web Browser allows the HMI to display web pages hosted by a PLC or other devices. This enables access to diagnostics, status pages, or web-based tools directly within the HMI.
Recipe Database
The Recipe Database stores and manages sets of parameters that can be applied to a machine or process. It allows quick switching between configurations and ensures consistent, repeatable operation.
Scheduler
The Scheduler allows tasks or actions to be executed at specific times or intervals. It is used for automating routine operations such as data logging, system resets, or timed control actions.
Timer Object
The Timer Object provides timing functions within the HMI, such as delays or countdowns. It is used to control the timing of actions or processes without requiring PLC logic.
Video Input (USB/IP Camera)
The Video Input object displays live video from connected cameras, including USB or supported IP cameras. It allows operators to monitor processes visually alongside system data.
XY Plot
The XY Plot displays the relationship between two variables by plotting one value against another. It is useful for analyzing correlations, performance curves, or calibration data.
