The leader in industrial automation and control solutions

This section covers the features in EasyBuilder Pro that enable HMIs to connect beyond the local machine and integrate with external systems, cloud platforms, and remote users. These capabilities extend the role of the HMI from a standalone interface to a connected device within a larger industrial network.

IIoT features focus on data connectivity and integration, allowing HMIs to exchange information with cloud services, databases, and enterprise systems. Protocols such as MQTT and OPC UA enable standardized communication with external platforms, while SQL integration supports long-term data storage and analysis. These tools allow process data to be collected, shared, and utilized for monitoring, reporting, and decision-making across systems.

Remote access features focus on user connectivity and system accessibility, allowing operators and engineers to interact with HMIs from remote locations. Tools such as cMT Viewer, VNC, WebView, and EasyAccess 2.0 provide multiple methods for viewing and controlling HMI interfaces over local or wide-area networks. These options range from direct network connections to secure VPN-based access, supporting both on-site and remote maintenance workflows.

Together, IIoT and remote access features enable HMIs to act as both data hubs and access points within modern automation systems. They support improved visibility, faster troubleshooting, and greater flexibility by allowing systems to be monitored, controlled, and integrated from virtually anywhere.

IIOT: MQTT

MQTT is a lightweight publish/subscribe protocol that allows HMIs to send and receive data to cloud platforms or broker servers. In EasyBuilder Pro, MQTT enables devices to publish real-time data and subscribe to updates, making it well-suited for scalable IIoT applications and remote monitoring systems.

IIOT: OPC-UA Server

The OPC UA Server feature allows the HMI to act as a centralized data provider, exposing tags and system data to external clients using a standardized, secure protocol. This enables seamless integration with SCADA systems, enterprise software, and other industrial platforms.

IIOT: SQL Database Integration

SQL Database Integration allows the HMI to store and retrieve data directly from external databases. This enables long-term data storage, reporting, and analysis by pushing logged data to structured database systems such as SQL servers.

Remote Access: cMT Viewer

cMT Viewer allows users to remotely view and control an HMI from a PC, tablet, or smartphone. It connects directly to the HMI over a network, providing real-time interaction with the interface as if operating locally.

Remote Access: EasyAccess 2.0

EasyAccess 2.0 is a secure remote access service that uses a VPN connection to allow users to connect to HMIs and PLCs from anywhere. It simplifies remote connectivity by eliminating the need for complex network configuration while enabling monitoring, control, and maintenance.

Remote Access: VNC Server

The VNC Server feature allows an HMI to broadcast its screen to remote clients using the VNC protocol. This enables users to view and control the HMI interface from other devices over a network connection.

Remote Access: VNC Viewer Object

The VNC Viewer Object allows the HMI to display and interact with another device’s screen, such as another HMI or computer running a VNC server. This enables centralized monitoring or control of multiple systems from a single interface.

Remote Access: WebView

WebView allows an HMI to be accessed through a standard web browser without requiring dedicated software. Users can view and interact with the HMI interface remotely using a browser, providing a convenient and platform-independent access method.
