Web HMI Overview
HTML 5 Web Class 1 Division 2 HMI Touch Panels
HTML5 Web HMIs
Web-based Human-Machine Interfaces offer a flexible and safe way to expand access to a central server.
Maple Systems’ Web HMIs provide the rugged build of an industrial touchscreen with the versatility of a Chromium-based web browser, ensuring reliable access to critical data even in the toughest environments.
By leveraging the processing power of a centralized server, Web HMIs present a streamlined approach that can cut down development and installation time, while increasing overall efficiency across your control system.
How It Works
Web HMIs function solely as client devices, meaning that they rely on a connection to a central server to access services and process data. The client device acts as an extension of the server’s interface, connecting to the server over ethernet to display data and collect operator input.
The central server in this case acts as the backbone of the operation, running all necessary software while managing processing and data delivery to client devices such as Web HMIs. Operators can then view feedback data on the Web HMI’s display and use the built-in touchscreen to interact and send input back to the server. This setup can be significantly more efficient due to reduced power consumption and centralized processing.
