The MAP450, MAP460 and OIT3600 each utilize the same case aluminum enclosure. This Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) enclosure is uniquely designed to facilitate panel mounting, pedestal mounting, and benchtop use. The information below illustrates how to mount these operator interface terminals in the most common panel mount configuration. With the rear cover removed, these OITs can be mounted to the front cover of a NEMA-style enclosure. Simply remove the rear cover and attach the front assembly to your panel or directly to your machine. This application requires only a small area and 1/4 inch of panel depth. The gasket for sealing to a panel is integrated into the OITs front housing. The rear cover is installed with four #6 – 32 x 1/2 screws. The length of the mounting screws for panel installation should increase by the thickness of the panel.
Mounting Sequence
1.
Define the location of the OIT on your equipment.
2.
Make location lines on panel, indicating the 8.12″ x 5.00″ outside dimensions (the panel cut-out necessary for panel mounting the OIT is 7.46″ x 4.10″).
3.
Register the panel cut-out dimensions to the outside dimension of the OIT.
4.
Use a cutting tool to remove the center section of the panel layout.
5.
Locate the mounting hole in reference to the panel cut-out.
6.
Install the OIT once the panel cut-out and mounting holes have been positioned.
