Project History
The OEM customer uses a Touchscreen Industrial Panel PC for their production-series tablet pressing machines. This rotary tablet press boasts features essential for successful mid-sized tableting without the full-scale price.
The application requires a cost effective 12” panel touch screen industrial PC with enough computing power for their custom software and reporting system. The pharmaceutical industry also requires the front bezel be stainless steel with a IP69K rating to meet washdown sanitization requirements.
The Problem
The tablet pressing system had already been developed and tested with many of the other automation components already purchased.
Manufacturing of the enclosures was already underway and wiring of the components had already begun. The OEM’s previous PC vendor was having supply problems and couldn’t meet their approaching deadlines. They approached Maple Systems for a solution.

The Solution
After talking with their sales engineer, we were able to provide an alternative panel PC with more power, better pricing, and in stock for quick shipment, keeping their project on track.
Our 12″ capacitive touch screen PC with a stainless steel enclosure was the ideal solution. This powerful panel PC had all the connection requirements the customer needed to interface with their tablet pressing system. The upgraded PC from Maple Systems required little re-engineering of the existing system because the new Maple Systems PC fit into the same panel cutout. The panel PC’s wifi option allows the tablet pressing machine to be mobile within the facility, connecting easily to the facility’s wireless network without need for dedicated Ethernet cabling. Plus the panel PC’s IP69K rating with 304 stainless steel bezel met their industry washdown and sanitization requirements.
