Summary

This document provides a detailed guide on creating an HMI configuration file for Maple Systems’ HMI 5000, cMT, and cMT X series HMIs. Configuration files are used for defining the settings, interface, and functionality of the HMI. By following this guide, users can efficiently set up their HMI devices to meet specific project requirements. This ensures optimal performance and usability across a wide range of operational environments.

Note: The HMI configuration file is a reusable file designed specifically for the compatible HMI models it was configured for. Users are not required to download the configuration file each time.

We recommend only downloading the configuration file if there is a specific application-related reason to do so. Proper reuse of the configuration file can save time and ensure ease of deployment.

Solution

1.

Open EasyBuilder Pro

2.

Navigate to the “Tool” tab and click “[System Setting] Editor”

q

For HMI 5000 series models select iP/iE/XE/mTV/eMT Series

1.

The Current Local Password must match what is configured at that juncture. If you do not know the Current Local Password then please contact who does, or perform a factory reset.

q

2.

You will see a column of Settings that are able to be modified using this configuration file. The settings with the Blue Check Mark mean they’re currently enabled and will replace the current configuration on the HMI if, and when this configuration file is downloaded.

q

2.

Navigate through each section and verify what you prefer the setting to be when downloaded onto the HMI. For example: the HMI does not currently have VNC access. Navigate to the VNC Server Settings menu and click “Start VNC single or multi-connection” and replace the default password of 111111 or keep it the same.

q

4.

Once everything has been configured navigate to the File tab > click Save. A Save Configuration File window will appear, and you may change the file name then place the configuration file where you would like for ease of access.

q

For cMT / cMT X Series models select the correct HMI model series. cMT, cMT X Series, and cMT-SVRX Series are selectable:

q

cMT Series options:
General, History, Network LAN 1, Network LAN 2, Security, VNC Server Settings, Misc

q

cMT X Series options:
General, History, Network LAN 1, Network LAN 2, Ethernet Bridge, Security, VNC Server Settings, Misc

q

cMT-SVRX Series:
General, History, Network LAN 1, Network LAN 2, Security, Misc
