Tower Stack Light Unboxing
We'll show what comes in the box, pole mount and direct mount options, show mounting accessories, and a live demo.
Should the stack light be steady or flashing?
These lights have functionality for both. Generally a Steady light is used for normal operation (e.g., steady green). While a Flashing light is used to denote a higher urgency or specific state, such as a machine warning or emergency situation.
Tower Stack Light with a buzzer: When Is Sound Necessary?
In loud production environments, a visual signal alone may not be enough. Operators may be away from the line, looking in another direction, or wearing hearing protection. In such cases, a Tower Stack Light With Buzzer can dramatically improve reaction times.
A typical stack light with buzzer integrates an acoustic module (often around 80–90 dB at 1 meter) into the tower. When a critical alarm is active, the corresponding color segment illuminates and the buzzer sounds with a continuous or pulsed pattern. This double indication reduces the risk of missed alarms and helps maintain safety and productivity.

What is the standard Tower Stack Light?
A typical tower light has three to five colored segments. Each color should represent a distinct machine status (e.g., Red = Fault, Amber = Warning, Green = Running, Blue = Maintenance, White = Custom).
It is tempting to select the tallest tower with the most colors “just in case”. But the best installations are usually simple and clear.
- 1 layer: Perfect for compact machines where only one critical state is indicated – typically red for alarm or stop.
- 2 layers: A common combination is red (fault) + green (run). Many small machines and workstations use this configuration.
- 3 layers: Red (fault), amber (warning), green (normal). This is very popular on automated lines and CNC machines.
- 4 layers: Adds blue (operator call) or white (special mode) to the standard three-color set.
- 5 layers: Maximum flexibility for complex processes with multiple sub-states.
What mounting options are available for the stack lights?
We have a variety of mounting options. They can be directly mounted to a control cabinet or chose a variety of bases that various length poles can be attached.

Are the tower lights LED or incandescent?
LED, LEDs provide higher brightness, lower power consumption, and a significantly longer lifespan than incandescent bulbs. They also perform better in high shock and vibration environments, making LED stack lights ideal for demanding manufacturing, automation, and machine status indication applications.

How do I ensure a watertight seal when mounting a tower light to my cabinet.
Our BR0218SA, is our Silver Aluminum Pole Mount Bracket. This bracket comes with a gasket, so when its installed properly, you’ll have a water tight seal for outdoor and washdown applications.
