Summary
Wi-Fi models have both the Wi-Fi module and the Ethernet port set to request an IP address from a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server. If a DHCP server is available on the network, they will automatically obtain an IP address from the server, and then be browsable from either EZwarePlus or EBPro. If a DHCP server is not available, they will default to an IP address of 169.254.0.1.
Solution
Steps to connect to a Wi-Fi enabled device when a DHCP server is unavailable:
1.
Configure your PC with the following network settings:
a.
IPv4 address 169.254.0.X, where X is any number between 2 and 254.
b.
Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0.
2.
Connect the Wi-Fi enabled device to your PC with a crossover Ethernet cable.
3.
Type 169.254.0.1 into an internet browser (for cMT products) or download to the unit with EZwarePlus/EBPro. Configure the device settings as needed.
