Summary

This solution configures EBPro’s FTP Server Object to establish a connection with a FileZilla FTP Server
running on a PC. The HMI acts as an FTP client, enabling file transfers between the HMI and the server.
Configuration involves setting up the FTP Server Object in EBPro, defining connection parameters, and
ensuring proper user credentials and permissions in FileZilla. This setup allows seamless file exchange for
logging, backups, or other data transfer needs.

Note: See Technical Note 5151 on how to install and configure FileZilla on a local PC to work with EBPro.

Solution

1.

Open the FTP Server Object under the [Data/History] tab. Click “New…” to create a new
connection and open the FTP Server Object’s dialog menu.

EBPro FTP Server setup window

2.

Configure an FTP connection using the FTP Server Object:

a.

Host IP is the PC running the FileZilla FTP Server service.

b.

The Username and Password should match the User created in FileZilla.

EBPro FTP Server Object setup window

3.

Enable FTP under the Home menu > System Parameters > FTP tab so it may create a folder on the FTP server.

EBPro System Parameters Settings window

4.

For testing purposes create a Backup (Per-Page) object to transfer historical data to the FTP
Server. If not yet configured, please create a data sampling object under the Data/History tab >
Data Sampling.

5.

After activating the Backup Object button on the HMI screen, FileZilla Server receives the datalog file and indicates that the operation was successful.
