Upgrade HMI
If RS-232 Serial communications on COM1 were used in the original application, the pin out of the COM port has changed with the new cMT HMI. Pins 2 and 3 have been swapped and the gender has also changed. Purchasing a new serial cable specific to the new HMI is recommended. However, you can also purchase a null modem gender changer to be used on the HMI end of the cable.
Maple Systems offers several HMIs that provide an upgrade path for your HMI5104TH. For almost all conversions, the transition requires little effort. When considering which particular HMI to replace your HMI5104TH, please note that not all replacement models are identical. Any of our 10.1″ HMI’s are a replacement option.
