What is a Management Host?
A Management Host is a designated device or system authorized to access and configure a network switch. It typically refers to a computer or server used for administrative tasks. Such as monitoring network activity, adjusting settings, and applying security policies. On Maple Systems network switches, a Management Host can be restricted by IP address. Ensuring that only approved devices can access the switch’s management interface. This enhances security by preventing unauthorized access and limiting control to specific network administrators.
This feature allows up to 10 different management hosts. The default is none, any host can manage the Switch via GUI or CLI solutions.
