What is the meaning of different IP Ratings? (IP65, IP66, IP67, IP69K)

IP ratings describe how well a device’s enclosure resists intrusion from dust and water. Defined by IEC 60529, these internationally recognized standards ensure products can withstand harsh environmental conditions. For example: IP65 protects against low-pressure water jets, IP66 against powerful jets, IP67 allows temporary immersion, and IP69K provides the highest level of protection for high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. Higher ratings indicate stronger environmental resistance.
