Summary

There are three ways to control the display of the system setting toolbar on the Maple Systems HMI 5000 Series. There is a check-box setting in EasyBuilder-5000 System Parameters, a local system tag [LB9020] that can be added to a project in EasyBuilder-5000, and there is an external dip switch [DIP Switch 2] on the back of the HMI.  This document explains the process for enabling or disabling the system setup toolbar.

Solution

One way to prevent the system setting arrow from appearing in the lower right-hand corner on the HMI is the System Setting options in the EasyBuilder-5000 System Parameters. To hide the system setting arrow on the HMI from within the EasyBuilder-5000 System Parameters, select EditSystem ParametersSystem Setting tab, and check the Hide System Setting bar option. If hiding the system setting bar using this method, you may want to add a set bit object to the project, addressing local bit 9062 [LB9062]. Toggle LB9062 ON to open the HMI hardware system settings.

To control the system setting toolbar from the touch screen, add a set bit object to the project, addressing local bit 9020 [LB9020].Toggle LB9020 to control the system setup toolbar display. When LB9020 is set ON the toolbar is displayed, and when LB9020 is set OFF the system setup toolbar is hidden.

To control the system setting toolbar externally, set DIP switch 2 on or off.  When DIP Switch 2 is set to ON the system setup toolbar is disabled, and when DIP switch 2 is set to OFF the system setup toolbar is enabled. Restart the HMI after toggling the switch to enable/disable this function.
