The leader in industrial automation and control solutions

“We’ve had a great experience. Maple Systems is now our go-to HMI platform. We appreciate how user-friendly the IDE is and how it speeds up development. The flexibility of the platform have made it a natural fit for our product line.”

Leslie Eager, Senior Manager of Engineering, GLX Technologies

Most small utilities cannot afford custom-engineered control systems. Our goal was to develop configurable, off-the-shelf panels that deliver the flexibility of custom systems without the cost or complexity. Maple Systems allowed us to do that by enabling complete system configuration from the HMI screen — no additional PLC programming is required. The result is a lower cost of ownership and faster deployment timeline for our customers.

We needed an HMI that could communicate with multiple PLC brands, support a flexible alarm package, and allow us to standardize configurations across many sites. Maple Systems met these needs and exceeded our expectations. Its ability to connect with a wide range of protocols and its easy-to-use configuration environment gave us the foundation to create scalable products. One area for future improvement would be enhanced support for indirect addressing to increase template flexibility.

We evaluated several HMI platforms and chose Maple Systems for its flexibility, broad protocol support, competitive pricing, and intuitive development tools. Maple Systems HMIs enable us to build scalable products that are simple for operators to use and easy for our team to support.

We integrate Maple Systems HMIs into every product in our GLX Connect family. Our GLX SmartView uses a 7-inch HMI, while the HydroTrack GW, HydroTrack WW, and HydroControl GW systems use 15-inch models. These HMIs serve as the central interface for configuration, diagnostics, alarms, and field operations.

GLX SmartView: Ideal for lift stations, remote wells, and stormwater monitoring, SmartView provides a cost-effective monitoring and alarming solution. It supports 8 digital and 6 analog inputs and enables SMS/email alerts, local HMI alarming, and optional SCADA integration. The 7-inch HMI allows full system configuration on-site without connecting a laptop.

HydroTrack GW: Designed for groundwater applications, HydroTrack GW monitors pumps, tanks, pressure, flow, and analyzers. Operators can access local alarm history and view system conditions through the 15-inch HMI. The panel is fully configurable in the field, including alarm thresholds and input scaling, without the need to modify ladder logic.

HydroTrack WW: This version supports small wastewater treatment plants, handling DO sensors, blowers, bar screens, clarifiers, and more. The intuitive HMI interface lets operators monitor basin levels, pump runtime, and chemical dosing with minimal training. All system parameters can be adjusted at the HMI using built-in password-controlled configuration screens.

HydroControl GW: HydroControl GW adds pump sequencing, pressure-based control, and analyzer integration for small water plants. It supports multiple tanks, chemical pumps, and backup generators, making it a turnkey control and monitoring solution. All configuration tasks — from I/O mapping to alarm setup — can be done through the Maple HMI with no external software required.

Across the GLX Connect product family, Maple Systems HMIs allow us to offer scalable products with consistent interfaces and flexible site configuration, tailored for water and wastewater utility environments.

The biggest impact was on our development process. Using Maple Systems helped us streamline our internal workflows, allowing us to build repeatable, scalable products more efficiently. We were able to reduce engineering time and increase consistency across deployments, which has improved our support and commissioning efforts in the field.

While we don’t currently publish external metrics, we can say that Maple Systems has played a key role in helping us reduce engineering time, increase standardization, and lower deployment costs. Internally, we’ve seen improved development speed and greater consistency between installations.

Maple’s IDE and device flexibility allowed us to dramatically reduce the time needed to develop and test new products. Our field team now spends less time configuring systems during commissioning, and our engineers can reuse and adapt screens quickly. This has improved our overall productivity across both engineering and field support.

The integration experience with Maple Systems has been excellent. Everyone from the distributor to the sales engineers has been helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive. It’s always a pleasure to work with professionals who are committed to supporting our success.

During implementation we used a combination of Maple’s technical manuals, YouTube videos, and direct support via email and phone. The resources were clear and helpful, and the support team was quick to respond to questions.

The biggest challenge was learning the full feature set of Maple Systems’ HMI platform. With so many powerful capabilities, it took time to fully understand how to apply them effectively across our different products. We overcame this by working closely with Maple’s technical support team and leveraging their training resources. As a result, our engineers quickly got up to speed and began developing more advanced solutions.

We’ve received consistent positive feedback from operators and clients. They appreciate the clarity of the HMI graphics, the simplicity of navigation, and the responsiveness of the interface.

Maple Systems is a great solution for any company delivering water and wastewater monitoring and control systems. Their hardware is dependable, their IDE is easy to work with, and their products integrate seamlessly with our standard control packages. We intend to use Maple Systems HMIs in all of our Generation 1 GLX Connect products. The integration is straightforward and reliable, and the platform continues to meet our needs as we scale.
