Summary
EasyBuilder Pro allows HMIs to connect to a remote FTP server. This document provides a comprehensive solution on how to download, install, and configure FileZilla Server on a local PC.
The purpose of creating a FileZilla Server is to:
- Automate Back-up Files
- Data Acquisition
- Send Files to an HMI
Solution
1.
Download the installer for FileZilla Server.
2.
Launch the installer. Select “Server” and “Administration interface” in the “Choose Components”
window. “Start menu shortcuts” and “Desktop icons” are optional.

In the Server Service Settings menu click “Next”.

In the Server Administration Settings menu leave the default port number as “14148” and
set a password.

On the Server’s Administration Interface Settings menu click “Install”.

Once the installation is complete, the Administration Interface should open. Click OK and it
should show that it has successfully connected to the server.

Click on the Server menu and select “Configure.”

Under Server Listeners ensure 0.0.0.0 and :: are set to “Explicit FTP over TLS and insecure plain
FTP”.

Under Protocol Settings / FTP and FTP over TLS (FTPS) ensure “Use a self-signed X.509
certificate” is selected.

Create a New User. This username will be used when setting up the FTP Server Object inside
EasyBuilder Pro. The Native path is a local file path on the PC pointing to the directory where the
files are to be saved. (C:\MapleSystems\FTP). The Virtual path (/) is the path that the FTP users
will see, and is mapped to the native path by FileZilla Server.

FileZilla Server is now configured to run on a Local PC in which EasyBuilder Pro’s FTP Server Object may be assigned to.
