Importing TagsUnlimited tag files can be imported into our configuration software from a variety of PLCs including Allen-Bradley and Siemens. Using tags can simplify programming the HMI to work with the PLC. Tag names (i.e. Temperature, OvenTemp1, etc) are assigned to variables and data memory locations to take the place of a memory address. This is of benefit because controllers that use memory addresses are often time consuming to program ("Did I place the temperature value in register 100... or 134??").
Maple Systems HMIs offer the ability to assign a tag name to a memory address using the Tag Library and custom tag files can be created in Excel and imported into the software's Tag Library. When creating objects, the tag name can also be selected to reduce programming time and confusion.
